Nikita Alekseev

Nikita Alexeev was born in 1953 in Moscow. In 1972 graduated from MGHU memory of 1905, in 1979-1976 he studied at the Moscow Polygraphic Institute in the Faculty of Art and Technical design of printed materials. For a long time he worked as an illustrator and designer of books in the Moscow publishing houses; since the early 1970s produced a self-published books and albums. In 1976-1983 — member of the «collective action». In 1979 was one of the founders of the Moscow Archive of New Art (MANI), and in 1982-1984 — co-founder and director of the gallery AptArt (Moscow), who was in his apartment. In 1987-1993 he lived in France. He currently lives and works in Moscow. In 2009, Nikita Alexeev was nominated for the State Award in the field of contemporary art «Innovation» and «Kandinsky Prize».
