Sergei Khismatov was born in St. Petersburg, February 21, 1983.
He graduated from the master’s European University at St. Petersburg.
From 2010 to 2012 attended songwriting workshops Moritz Eggert in Munich.
He attended master classes by such composers as Boris Filanovskii, Pascal Dusapin, Enno Poppe, Helmut Lachenmann.
Sergei was stipndiatom Villa Concordia artist-in-residence 2013-2014. His music has won first place at competitions OSSIA in New York and the Hof Klang 2012 in Leipzig and there was invited artist-in-residence. In 2014 chamber opera cycle to the left Advocacy Award was awarded to the Boston Metro Opera. In 2012, Sergei won the Ministry of Culture of St. Petersburg.
